Black History Month: Fashion icons through the years

Hi Loves! I'm happy to announce that I will be a fashion contributor for Royal Dynamite, a clothing company with a strong social responsibility. I will dedicate a full post on them very soon but for now, Happy Black History Month to you all and have a great weekend! XO 

Trends come and go, but true style is timeless. And there are some people who consistently maintain a sense of style that everyone admires. In honor of Black History Month, Let's look at a few a few of the  trend-setters from yesterday and today.

1. Diana Ross
Diana Ross was probably the most emblematic  woman of the 70s disco-era fashion. From her fabulous hair, to her  elegantly draped Halston and Bob Mackie gowns, fur stoles, wide-brimmed hats, angel sleeves and sequins dresses, Ms Ross' outfits were very similar if not identical to the wardrobe of Tracy, the over-the-top stylish fashion designer she played in 1975’s Mahogany. On and off-camera, Diana Ross always looked ready to shake her groove thang. 

2. Pam Grier
Known for her bold and assertive characters, Ms Grier epitomized '70s mod style, donning trend-setting mini-dresses with go-go boots and sexy midriff-bearing tops. Miss Foxy knew she had a body and wasn't afraid to flaunt it!
